They are copied to a <tt>.original<\/tt> subdirectory.<\/p>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full \" src=\"\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/num3-48.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" \/> Reference for altitude in GPS files<\/h3>\n<p>There are several references for <a href=\"\/en\/altitudes\/\">altitudes<\/a>. The software recognizes two GPS file formats that each have their own references. Unfortunately, some GPS trackers do not strictly follow the standards.<\/p>\n<p>These options allow you to stick to the reference used by your GPS files.<\/p>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full \" src=\"\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/num4-48.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" \/> R\u00e9f\u00e9rence for altitude in EXIF<\/h3>\n<p>The EXIF standard does not specify the reference to be used for altitude recording. PicaGeoTag uses the WGS-84 ellipsoid but you can choose to record altitudes relative to sea level.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, the reference used is saved in the <tt>GPSMapDatum<\/tt> tag.
